My Approach

My approach to therapy is very collaborative. I believe you are in charge of your journey and I am here to guide you in whatever way you see fit. It is very important to me that your needs are met; therefore, I am always open to feedback. The techniques and interventions I use come from the following models:

  • family systems theory, meaning that rather than only looking at the individual, I look at how the individual relates to, interacts with, and is affected by others,

  • emotionally focused therapy (EFT), which focuses on identifying and communicating the underlying emotions in order to alter the toxic cycles between loved ones

  • cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is designed to change thought patterns and behaviors that perpetuate symptoms

  • common factors is based on the idea that many therapy models have similar themes, ideas, and interventions; and the importance of integrating the best parts of each model
